Children are encouraged to self-manage their asthma through games, goals and rewards that are geared toward their specific adherence challenges.

Doctors can access discrete and longitudinal data that are crucial for improving therapy, accurate diagnosis and reinforcement of adherence. Geckocap is initially focused on addressing pediatric asthma but the platform can be applied to a broad range of diseases, medications, and behaviors.

Why are you focusing on children?
We are passionate about improving care for pediatric asthma, and we understand what children need to improve their health. One of our co-founders is the father of an asthmatic boy, and our other co-founder is a physician. By focusing on a real, solvable problem in a well-defined market, we hope to effect the most change for the largest number of children and their families.

GeckoCap can improve public health research by allowing epidemiologists and researchers to monitor asthma burden. Data are aggregated to protect individual patient privacy, and can be analyzed to determine sources of exacerbation and disease patterns. With this knowledge, policymakers can better design interventions to maximize public health and societal benefits.
